Happy New Year!

Though it is the middle of January, let me bid you a truly Healthy and Health-Wise year.   By now we have all heard a flurry of New Year’s Resolutions from family and friends, and probably noticed that the majority of them have to do with living a healthier lifestyle and taking better care of oneself.  And we all know the statistics of how many resolutions will have failed by the end of January.

Aren’t you glad that you’re already on the path of a healthy lifestyle?

Know that unknown numbers of people look at you on a regular basis and wonder how you make the choices that you do when they find the same choices difficult to maintain.  Do you ever stop and ask yourself what motivates you?   How do you sustain the lifestyle that you have chosen? What would you say to encourage someone who wants to make a change?  Do you invite others to join the journey?

Our nation is facing a healthcare crisis in more ways than one.  I believe that we will turn the tide of this crisis the way all crises are turned – one person at a time.  We may not be able to change the cultural or political institutions around healthcare, but we can help improve the health of those around us and energize a movement of personal health responsibility.

I invite you to join me in making 2012 a year of sharing your health wisdom with others.  It’s simple: just live your healthy lifestyle brightly and boldly.

  • Make healthy food choices and don’t apologize for them
  • Take your supplements in plain view – yes, even when you’re eating out
  • Nourish yourself in all ways, not just with food
  • Invite someone to move more with you – walk, bike, run, dance, garden, take the stairs
  • Share your experience, your understanding and your motivation
  • Educate others every chance you get – pay it forward and pass it on
  • Be passionate about preserving your health and celebrate it every day

Make it a Health-Wise year!
